We are on the lookout for a motivated Working Student in Software Development, specializing in C++. This role is centered around contributing to the redevelopment of an advanced software application in the field of eye diagnostics.

This position provides a unique opportunity for students to apply and expand their C++ knowledge, while gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of software development, particularly in developing communication interfaces with hardware components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain communication interfaces between the software and its hardware components. While prior experience is beneficial, eagerness to learn in this area is highly valued.
• Assist in the design and implementation of user interfaces using the Qt framework. Knowledge of Qt is an advantage but not necessary.
• Participate in integrating and optimizing data access to SQL database structures. Experience with SQL is a plus, but learning opportunities will be provided.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of software components. Proficiency in C++ is required, with opportunities to further develop these skills.
• Contribute to ensuring high quality and user-friendliness of the user interfaces. A creative mindset and attention to detail are appreciated.
• Collaborate within an international and diverse team to identify and implement software improvements. Strong communication skills and team spirit are essential.
• Engage in various stages of the software development cycle, including design, testing, and documentation, offering a comprehensive learning experience.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in C++ programming.
• A keen interest in learning about software-hardware interaction and communication interfaces.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Any prior experience or interest in the following is a plus but not required: UI development, SQL databases, concurrent software systems, medical software standards (e.g., DICOM), CMake build system, and the Boost Software Library.
