Fraunhofer IKTS conducts application-oriented research for advanced ceramics. The three locations in Dresden and Hermsdorf (Thuringia) form the largest ceramics research institute in Europe. As a research and technology service provider, we develop modern ceramic high-performance materials, industry-relevant manufacturing processes as well as prototype components and systems in complete production lines up to pilot scale. In addition, the portfolio includes the competencies of materials diagnostics and testing. At the newly created site in the Erfurter Kreuz industrial park in Arnstadt, Fraunhofer IKTS is involved in the Battery Innovation and Technology Center with the development of system solutions for the networked, digitally supported production and quality assurance of energy storage systems as well as other products that rely very heavily on innovative materials such as ceramics. Here, Industry 4.0 solutions are developed in hardware and software applications and, in the future, training and education concepts are offered in the areas of Industry 4.0, battery production and e-mobility.

What you will do

• Independent management of national and international research projects
• Collaboration in the establishment, further development and operation of the Battery Innovation and Technology Center BITC
• Supervision of student theses and internships
• Coordination of colleagues in projects
• Acquisition of industrial contracts and participation in the application process for publicly funded projects
• Scientific publication of research results
• Participation in national and international events and conferences

What you bring to the table

• Have you successfully completed a university degree in science, technology or business administration, preferably in chemistry, electrical engineering or a related discipline?
• A doctorate, management experience or a stay abroad would be desirable.
• You have experience in managing projects?
• You are creative and show a high degree of initiative?
• You are independent, committed, but also able to work in a team and communicate well?
• You have a good command of German and English?
• You are an organizational talent and have good presentation skills?

The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position is limited up to 2 years and can also be filled on a part-time basis.
