Depending on staff changes and available funds, the position could be upped during the year. Possible perspectives for this can be pointed out in the job interview. Ideally, follow-up funding will be available after the end of the parental leave replacement, thus ensuring that the candidate can remain in the team on a permanent basis.
Requirements:
- A keen interest in the study of the egalitarian city, in addressing the crises caused by the climate emergency, and a strong motivation to employ spatial, social, environmental, and societal perspectives to address the important issues facing the contemporary city.
- An excellent university degree in architecture, urban design, urban planning, spatial planning or urban studies. A completed doctorate is possible, but not a prerequisite.
- Experience with urban design in teaching and/or practice.
- Experience in scientific and interdisciplinary work.
- Interest in interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary cooperation; strong ability for teamwork, independence and initiative.
- Very good knowledge of English. Knowledge of German is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
Tasks:
The main focus is on teaching in the design studios of the Master of Architecture and/or Bachelor of Architecture, as well as the Master of Urban Studies. The course format "Emergency Measures" (see website) is to be further developed together with the team. In addition, seminar and lecture formats are to be supervised. The acquisition of third-party funding projects will be carried out in cooperation with other members of the professorship and the professor and can be jointly adapted to individual knowledge and ideas. Possible topics are urban design and AI, urban design and acoustically effective landscapes, urban design and airport environments, or the territorial perspective on the city. In addition, active participation in the academic self-administration and the operation and further development of the professorship is expected.
