In the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden, a joint initiative of The Schaufler Foundation and TUD Dresden
University of Technology, researchers and artists address the interactions between technology, art,
science, and entrepreneurship. The focus is on technology as a resource, as a medium of
dissemination, and as an element of discourse. The guiding theme of the second funding phase will
be “Data Worlds. Socio-technical and Cultural Syntheses of New Realities”. Under this title, the
relationships between technological development and social and cultural change are to be
investigated from a primarily humanities, cultural, social and educational science perspective,
artistically elaborated and communicated to the public. The Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden comprises
seven PhD positions and one postdoctoral position at the Schaufler Kolleg graduate school, as well as
an annually changing Artist in Residence program at the Schaufler Residency. For TUD diversity is an
essential feature and a quality criterion of an excellent university. Accordingly, we welcome all
applicants who would like to commit themselves, their achievements and productivity to the success
of the whole institution.
