What You Will Do
Role:
- As an European Business Development Manager, with focus on raw cables, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of Molex in the European cable market. Working closely with Sales, Product Management, as well as with cross-groups, you will be required to develop and execute strategic business plans to expand our market presence and increase sales of our Industrial Automation solutions within our Accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales in Europe, in the promotion of Molex Cable Solutions in target market segments, participating in multi-location account development activities and meetings when required. Travel around Europe is mandatory when developing new and strategic business and/or supporting Sales Europe in opportunity execution.
- Become a subject matter expert and provide consultative selling by demonstrating the value and benefits of our solutions, tailored to a customer's requirements. Preparing and presenting proposals and proof-of-concepts, both in person and through digital interactions.
- Develop an understanding of target customer and prospect profiles, applications, needs, problems, and their expectations, whilst also being aware of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) and the current state of the business in the assigned region.
- Track trends and dependencies in the industry/market segments that impact primary sources of sales/revenues in the assigned region. Identify and monitor competitor presence, and their developments/position, in the assigned region and target accounts.
- Explore eligible business expansion (e.g. identify complementary third-party products/solutions or new and unexplored market opportunities), which is additive to the existing business (i.e. contribution margin in key accounts) or would contribute to overall growth projections for the assigned region.
Expectations:
- Use Economic Thinking and Principle Based Management™ when developing new business for the DSS Division/Industrial Solutions Business Unit, leveraging your comparative advantage in team collaboration and opportunity execution.
- Align Molex Cable Italy and AC (Automation Connectivity) Product Management with customer expectations, enabling the Industrial Business Unit to strategically develop and publish a Product Roadmap, which meets customer expectations and user requirements.
- Align customers with Molex overall capabilities, optimizing our strengths/expertise, whilst also positioning Molex as a preferred supplier.
- Prepare and present regular detailed reports, market insights and forecasts to guide strategic decision making by the management team.
- Knowledge share with colleagues and peers to increase ISBU GiG Industrial Molex competitive advantage.
- Market intelligence gathering to guide strategic decision making by the management team.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Electro-Mech higher education
- Advanced written and oral English communication skills. Italian huge plus.
- Experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the raw cable sector.
- A good understanding Industrial Automation
- Industrial market knowledge (technology and industry trends)
- Experience in dealing directly with OEM's and End-users
- Team player with strong networking skills and the ability to share knowledge
