Overview:
The Director of Human Resources (HR) for CCR Germany will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the human resources strategy for a dynamic and transformative segment of the business.
Based in Köln, with an optional location in Erfurt, this senior leadership position reports directly to the Regional HR Director, on a hybrid working model.
The Director HR, CCR Germany is responsible for overseeing HR functions across three legal entities and supporting over 700 employees.
This role requires a strategic and operational leader who can influence policies, practices, and procedures to meet the organization's long-term objectives.
The successful candidate will manage a team of HR professionals, implement HR programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational performance.
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR programs and policies to achieve organizational objectives;
- Plan for short- and long-term HR needs, ensuring alignment with current trends and future requirements;
- Drive HR strategies focused on increasing employee engagement and retention rates.
HR Operations and Management:
- Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, workforce management, and diversity initiatives;
- Manage HR concerns related to mergers and acquisitions, including people integration during and post-M&A processes;
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, particularly in complex labor relations and Works Council environments;
- Compile, analyze, and report HR metrics to support business unit and department objectives.
Employee Relations and Talent Management:
- Act as a partner in employee management, formulating and administering HR plans;
- Lead Talent Acquisition efforts for the country, focusing on attracting diverse talent and building bench strength;
- Champion the ‘Hire for performance – Coach for performance - Pay for performance’ principles;
- Resolve Talent and Performance Management issues and Labor and Employee Relations concerns.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage a team of HR professionals and team leaders, fostering a high-performance culture;
- Provide coaching, feedback, and leadership development to HR team members;
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR management.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business unit, department, and functional leadership to align HR activities with business goals;
- Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to various stakeholders, particularly at the leadership level;
- Communicate and implement HR activities and programs that support bottom-line results.
Qualifications:
Experience and Background:
- Strong HR background with comparable experience overseeing HR functions in Germany;
- Experience in multi-national and regional environments with a complex labor relations landscape;
- Significant experience in leading change and transformation at local and regional levels;
- Proven experience driving change through transformation projects in various HR areas.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of multiple HR practices and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS);
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, including performance management, feedback, and coaching;
- Proficient in people analytics and the value of high-quality management information;
- Strong communication and influencing skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
