Hannover Medical School, Children’s Hospital, Interdisciplinary Transplantation is looking for a
Epidemiologist / Data Scientist (f/d/m)
in the field of cardiovascular medicine and transplantation. The group has a longstanding interest in describing cardiovascular risk factors and subclinical damage in children and young adults after kidney transplantation using epidemiological approaches. We have access to data sets from the 4C study (http://www.4c-study(dot)eu/) and different larger registries. Some recent examples of our work are listed below and demonstrate the sophisticated methodology used in our group.
Tasks
We are looking for an individual with the following interests and competences:
- Interest in data-driven research and existing knowledge in epidemiological study design and methodology.
- Ideally previous exposure to topics related to health/medical science, in particular to cardiovascular health and/or transplantation.
- Ability to combine epidemiological/statistical expertise with creative thinking to find the best analytical solutions.
- A conscientious and scientifically-oriented work ethic with a problem-solving attitude.
- Superior knowledge on accurate and responsible processing of data including documentation, analysis and interpretation.
- Ability to comprehend existing data processing and analyses codes/programs combined with the capability to optimize existing protocols as well as to identify and establish new analytical approaches.
Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Completed doctorate or master degree in Epidemiology, Medical Biometry/Statistics, Public health, Mathematics, Physics, Informatics or comparable.
- Knowledge of programming language and data analysis using SAS and/or other comparable statistical analysis software (STATA, R).
- Experience in manipulation, analyses, and exploration of longitudinal data.
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
