The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Global MSAT & Engineering (PTT) group takes bold steps to modernize technical operations so Roche can deliver medicines for patients more quickly, efficiently and reliably. In partnership with PT colleagues, we shape and accelerate technology innovation and product lifecycle management for tomorrow, while standardizing and driving operational excellence in PT today.

The PTT - global Manufacturing Science and Technology (gMSAT) department focuses on technical support for commercial products in our internal and external drug substance and drug product network, implementation of new technologies, network standardization and distribution technologies.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for you as a Technology Scientific Expert (m/f/d). You will lead an innovative, sustainable and efficient production and thus enable the provision of the current and future product portfolio.

• You take responsibility for concepts, pilot projects and the scaling of important new technologies by assessing feasibility, scalability and readiness for implementation

• You will be responsible for a significant, network-based introduction of new technologies into Roche Pharma manufacturing and coordinate large and/or cross-functional project teams and/or initiatives

• You also help shape the direction and resource allocation of programs

Your Tasks

• You ensure the process capability of the production process beyond standardized processes and keep an eye on compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and their documentation

• You act as a cross-location expert on complex technical issues as well as an advisor to management and summarize complex issues and conclusions to accelerate agreements and decisions

• You lead and inspire colleagues professionally and contribute to their professional development and performance review. You act as a role model and develop effective risk-taking and decision-making for colleagues with less experience

• You will be responsible for and monitor the documentation and continuous further development of specialist operational topics (focus on Process technology, automation, process control, process plant design, technology standards) and ensure a regular exchange between the companies

• You create detailed production plans and ensure the implementation of coordinated measures. You will also support the strategic solution of challenging technical problems and issues

Who you are

• You have a Master's degree or a doctorate in a technical or scientific field

• You have already gained 5 to 10 years of professional experience in the field of production technology, ideally with initial experience in the functional management of teams and/or matrix management

• You are an expert in one of the MSAT modalities (synthetic molecules, biologics (large molecules), antibody-drug conjugates, etc.) and/or platforms (drug substance and product manufacturing, packaging and/or distribution) and have extensive knowledge of the PTx function

• You anticipate complex problems and contribute to problem solving by identifying key influencing factors and pointing out possible solutions

• You communicate clearly and effectively to explain complex concepts and convince high-ranking executives of alternative points of view

• You are confident in external presentations and place great value on a company-wide network

• You are willing to travel up to 20%
