Role Overview
Fisker Inc. is looking for a passionate Logistics Budget and Payment Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all payment for global third party service providers, being the liaison with the Finance to ensure the payment is made accordingly, rate/route maintenance, freight audit ensuring all invoices are correctly submitted, dispute resolution with service providers and budget tracking.
Responsibilities
- Verify, confirm, and pay all invoices received from third party service providers.
- Ensure that approved invoices are paid timely while coordinating with AP team.
- Maintain, oversee, and reconcile all aspects of the freight payment process.
- Develop and maintain department budget for global vehicle transportation and logistics.
- Conduct frequent spend analysis reporting and ensure department spend is within planned budget.
- Review and helps resolve discrepancies or errors for unapproved invoices with service providers.
- Provide guidelines to service providers on processing all invoices and resubmittal.
- Oversee mutual agreement of payment policies with service provider to ensure there is no unnecessary spend.
- Ensure contracted rates are updated per contractual agreements with vendors (i.e. seasonal fuel adjustments, inflation adjustments, planned annual increases).
- Coordinate closely with operation/planning groups when contacts are signed/amended.
- Work with IT if any errors occur or for further development is needed in freight payment software.
- Publish analytical report for monthly forecasted and actual spending.
- Monthly report distribution of month-end logistics payment trends in each operation.
- Monitor service provider’s billing performance by publishing metrics on the rate of mis-invoicing and the rate of reaction for corrections through a KPI dashboard.
- Ensure service provider’s compliance to contractual agreement of invoice submission. Assist with development of agreement when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned and assist with performance improvement and ad hoc projects.
Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience
- Degree in accounting, finance, logistics, supply chain management, or business administration.
- Multi-cultural interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English, preferred language skills in German.
- Prior experience (4-6 years) of working in logistics/supply chain/ transportation function within the automotive or manufacturing environment with comprehensive knowledge of logistics and operations processes.
- Knowledge of principles of transporting finished vehicles by any mode is a plus
- IT systems experience and skills including knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and customer data systems.
- Advanced skills of MS Office applications, specifically, Excel.
- Well organized, strong attention to detail, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a proactive mindset.
- Ability to make accurate assessments based upon common industry practice, vendor contractual obligations, and company policies.
- Knowledge of FVL transportation, insurance and logistics service providers
