At the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry, the Chair of Molecular Functional Materials
offers a position as
Research Associate (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting as soon as possible. The position comprises 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours and is limited
to 6 months within the EU project Development of Thiophene Based Conjugated Polymers in Two
Dimensions (T2DCP). The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts
Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz-WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further
academic qualification.
Tasks: design and bottom-up organic synthesis of graphene molecules and 2D conjugated polymers
with novel edge structures; solution and interface chemistry; organizational tasks within the project.
Requirements: university degree in chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials sciences, or similar;
previous experience in MOF synthesis, 2D materials and electronic technologies; interest in basic and
application-related research; very good interpersonal and communication skills; in particular, the
ability to effectively work in collaborative research efforts; an independent, target- and solution-driven
work attitude; inter- and multidisciplinary thinking; strong motivation; fluency in English - written and
oral.
