Job Summary
As a Senior Actuarial Data Scientist in the Data Analytics Services (DAS) team of our Life & Health business unit, you apply your understanding for data and its meaning to life insurance to life insurance protection products to help internal and external clients of our Central Europe & Nordics markets make efficient use of that data and generate insight by use of state-of-the-art data manipulation, analysis and visualization techniques. Within the DAS team you will be responsible for delivering our data analysis offering to clients at highest quality standards, representing SCOR in the industry and with individual clients, developing our strategic service vision and exploring, implementing and reviewing new data sources and data science methods.
Key duties and responsibilities
- You conduct experience studies and other data analyses, incl. data preparation and cleansing, as well as presentation of results to internal and external clients
- You support product development and market teams as well as technical accounting and controlling departments with data, analyses, and tools
- You develop our strategic data analysis service offering for internal and external clients and respective tooling requirements
- You explore, implement and review new data sources and data science methods for the DAS team’s tasks
- You lead multi-disciplinary, multi-team projects centred around data
- You represent our CEN macro market in the global exchange of methods, data, and tools in SCOR’s data science community, and help adopting respective innovative solutions in our markets
- You increase SCOR’s visibility in the industry and with clients as a data expert and solution provider
Required experience & competencies
Experience / Digital Competencies:
- Multi-year specific work experience in (re)insurance with a focus on mathematics and/or statistics
- Advanced knowledge of statistical and/or actuarial methods esp. with regard to data analytics/ data science
- Very good knowledge in programming/ coding with R or Python
- Advanced knowledge in dealing with various forms of insurance data incl. Big Data
- Ideally, agile project management (e.g., SCRUM)

- Advanced analytical and mathematical skills

Required Education:
- University degree/Master degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, equivalent other scientific discipline with strong mathematical focus
- Membership in actuarial association/qualified as an actuary, preferably additional actuarial data science certification (e.g. CADS), or equivalent qualification.
