The aim of this postdoctoral position is to identify and analyse policy options and strategies, especially with regards to the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy and the EU Nature Restoration Law, to foster sustainable agricultural practices, and, particularly, to promote the restoration of landscape features and planting of trees in agricultural areas.
- Scientific policy analyses and evaluation of stakeholder interactions to assess opportunities and challenges for the scaling up of good agricultural practices and the reintroduction of landscape features
- Development of a priority map highlighting areas of high and low potential for landscape feature reintroduction
- Synthesis of policy recommendations for the Common Agriculture Policy, Nature Restoration Law and other relevant instruments to foster landscape features
- Collaboration with stakeholders from science, policy and practice across seven case study sites in Europe to Co-develop a vision for landscape feature restoration
- Coordination of workshops and stakeholder processes in the city of Leipzig case study regarding the surrounding agricultural lands
- Scientific journal publications and contribution to policy and practice reports
- Project coordination of UFZ/iDiv LAFERIA work packages including liaison with project partners, reporting and budget management
- Preparation of further research proposals
