This role is ideally based in our location in Bremen (Hybrid). Alternatively home "work arrangement" is also possible.

About the role:
Working under the supervision of the global team and supporting the renewable energy certification projects globally. - He/she will evaluate design calculations for assessment of the structural components within the nacelle and hub of a wind turbine (for example components like rotor-shaft & -hub, frames, gearbox planet carriers etc.). Depending upon the projects, the expert may also be involved in the design evaluation for wind turbine lifetime extension projects as well as offshore wind turbine support structures.
- Structural analysis using commercial Finite element analysis software and conforming to international guidelines will be the main technical aspect of the job.
- Additionally, he/she will visit customer factories to witness the correct implementation of specific designs of nacelle and hub components in the manufacturing or assembly process. Travel requirements for this role are limited.
- This position will involve the expert providing limited support in evaluating wind turbine - main gearbox test campaigns. The necessary internal trainings shall be provided to fulfill this responsibility.
- Strong organizational, documentation and communication skills are essential for this role, as the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with clients and team members from multiple channels, ensuring project scope and specifications are clearly documented and understood. On the job training and mentoring will be provided.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Global team, the Engineer will be responsible for Project execution, Customer management and expanding UL Renewables Certification services in Germany and abroad.
Key responsibilities are:
- Evaluation of structural components within the nacelle and hub of a wind turbine (for example hub, shaft, frames, gearbox planet carriers etc.) according to international standards like IEC 61400-1
- Structural analysis and finite element calculations with commercialized numerical simulation tools (example ANSYS or similar)
- Inspection of manufacturer’s facilities to witness correct implementation of specific designs of nacelle and hub in the manufacturing or assembly process
- Communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Identification of possibilities and techniques to improve and automate internal calculations & processes

About you:
Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Structural Engineering or any equivalent field - Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in structural analysis, fatigue failure, CAE/FEM calculations, structural steel materials and cast materials
- Experience in commercialized numerical simulation tools (example ANSYS or ABAQUS)
- Experience in manufacturing processes involving steel structure fabrication and welding is desirable
- Willingness to travel (within Germany and outside the country)
- Good English language skills (written and spoken)
- German language skill is highly desirable
- Customer focus, commitment, and independent work
- Should possess excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong technical aptitude and decision making
