Internship in IT from March 2024 in Hamburg bei Mercedes Benz AG

One igniting innovation changed the world: the automobile. Today, e-mobility and digitalization are the basis for innovation processes in our Group. In your internship at the Hamburg plant, you will be part of this digital transformation.

The employees of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Hamburg develop and produce in the five core fields: E-mobility components, axles and axle components, steering columns, and lightweight structural parts. Pioneering technologies such as modern welding processes and the combination of hydroforming and plastic injection molding are being further developed for series production at the site.

The IT organization at the Hamburg plant develops digital solutions in collaboration with national and international IT hubs. The requirements of the development, production and quality departments are implemented by IT with data analytics and data science solutions.

The following tasks await you as part of the internship:

• You will focus on solutions in the area of Smart Analytics, Big Data and Machine Learning and develop solutions for condition monitoring and forecasting in the production process using a cloud-based analysis tool suite (Databricks, Spark, Python)
• You coordinate closely with the relevant departments such as production, maintenance, quality management or logistics as well as internal and external partners
• You organize your project tasks independently in an agile environment, including the coordination of requirements, organization of workshops and the preparation and presentation of the results
• With us, you are part of the team from day one and gain insights into the processes and organization of IT and the Mercedes-Benz plant
• Depending on your knowledge and interests, you can also take on other tasks of the team in coordination with us

• Degree in computer science, business informatics, technical informatics or a comparable course of study
• Secure knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
• Confident handling of MS-Office
• In-depth knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably Python)
• Basic knowledge of software architectures and software development (full stack development)
• Experience in working with data and DataAnalytics as well as interest in processes in production are an advantage
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
• Communication skills and interest in learning new topics
