Description
SAIC is seeking a qualified Fighter Pilot or Fighter WSO to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.
This position supports the USAFE-AFAFRICA Warfare Center (UAWC). The Fighter Pilot or Fighter WSO SME will:
- Support Tier 1-4 exercises and training events integrating USAF, Joint, Allied, and Coalition warfighters across the air, land, sea, space, and cyber battlespace at the Tactical and Operational Levels of War.
- Lead and facilitate warfighters in the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) including exercise and training event concept/scenario development, planning conferences, mission planning, white force briefs, mass briefs, mission briefs, execution, debriefs, evaluation/analysis, and after action report completion.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of United States (US) military planning cycles and processes, training requirements and procedures, and the employment of US military weapons systems.
- Conduct simulated air operations during exercises and training events in missions that include but are not limited to Offensive Counter-Air (OCA), Defense Counter-Air (DCA), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD), Air Interdiction (AI), Close Air Support (CAS), Strike Control and Reconnaissance (SCAR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), Dynamic Targeting (DT), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), and Special Operations.
- Perform white, red, and blue force functions during execution of exercises and training events using virtual and constructive simulation systems and models. These simulation systems and models include but are not limited to Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE), Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), F-35 Effects Based Simulator (EBS), JTAC Simulators, Future Force Experimentation Air Defense Simulation (FFEADS), and International Simulation (ISim).
- Create and maintain documents and mission materials to support exercises and training events. These documents include but are not limited to Air Operations Directives (AOD), Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Airspace Control Plans (ACP), Airspace Control Orders (ACO), Area Air Defense Plans (AADP), Special Instructions (SPINs), communication plans, Orders of Battle (OOB), red air plans, and mission execution products.
- Prepare, coordinate, and present USAF, Joint, and Allied air warfare briefings, support academic development and instruction, and lead air warfare discussions with a wide range of audiences as requested by the US Government.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
- Rated Fighter Pilot or Fighter WSO with operational experience within 5 years, and with a minimum of 10 years of operational experience.
- Minimum of 200 hours of flight instructor or flight evaluator experience.
- Waiver of experience / qualification requirements may be addressed by the UAWC/CC and approved by the FEDSIM COR.
- Security Clearance: Secret. Eligible for Top Secret / SCI
Desired Experience
- USAF Weapons School graduate (or US Navy equivalent).
- USAF mission commander.
- Air Operations Center experience.
- Knowledge of the Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP).
- Knowledge of US Joint doctrine and USAF doctrine.
- Familiarity with Joint and Allied operations and exercises.
