Role Overview:
The SAP GPO is the IT owner for the Master Data Governance/MDG (20%) workstream as well as EHS (80%) within the SAP S4/HANA global systems focusing on efficient master data governance tools, processes, and product compliance across the organization. This position will work to identify S4 solutions, improvements, be a visible and engaged asset to our end users in various countries. Act as the global process owner ‘GPO’, partnering and interfacing between our internal functions and our 3rd party IT providers addressing all MDG and product compliance topics from an IT perspective.
Responsibilities:
Globally responsible for end-to-end ERP process for EHS Management and MDG processes, incl. areas of product and chemicals safety, dangerous goods, label management, REACH and material master creation - Support the EH&S workstream through SAP integrations, regulatory content updates and projects
- Act as main point of contact for EHS processes/data, and provide guidance and expertise for ERP applications
- Oversee Material Master IT tools involving EHS– material creation, chemical compositions, product labeling, specification database, EHS rules and compliance topics
- Implement and manage SAP EHS Regulatory Content (SERC) packages
- Lead demand management for EHS process, ensuring completeness of regional and country-specific process requirements and identification of architecture inter-dependencies with other programs
- Design necessary changes and system specifications aimed at satisfying the business and regulatory requirements
- Implement process improvements (standardization, automation & simplification) in SAP in coordination with other global and regional process owners
- Document global business processes and works on related systems specifications for the global EHS system across the global ERP landscape
- Lead and/ or support ERP projects
- Promote and support exchange with process owners, EHS teams and the local key users community
- Define required capabilities for EHS-related ERP processes and information management/data management
- Build user capabilities (e.g. via trainings)
- Track and maintain process KPI data for respective SAP EHS processes and related master data
Qualifications:
University degree (Bachelor or advanced degree in information technology, chemical manufacturing, business administration or related field) - 8+ professional experience, ideally in large or mid-sized internationally active company
- Experience in managing business solutions
- Deep understanding of ERP end to end solutions
- Specialist knowledge of SAP S/4HANA with experience in SAP EHS Management modules and solutions (e.g. SERC, 3E Optimize)
- Experience with SAP full lifecycle implementations
- Specialist knowledge of master data management for products (real substance (REAL_SUB) level, safety data sheets, product labeling, rule sets, phrase catalogs, GHS, chemical formulations/compositions and the like)
- Understanding of EHS requirements in manufacturing (Product Safety / Chemical Safety / Dangerous Goods Management / Labelling / REACH)
- Knowledge of Material Master tools, MDM, MDG, or related
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Hands-on experience in solving process challenges an SAP S/4HANA platform..
- Prior experience leading a workstream/module within a SAP project implementation

- Collaborate with various global functions internally on EHS/MDG/product related initiatives and projects.
- Manage your projects and ensure their success - from requirements gathering, analysis to go-live.
- Develop and define procedures, training materials for the organization and train users upon the deployment of new functional
