R&D Internship in Verden (Aller) bei Mars

This role is part of the Mars Pet Nutrition Europe Research & Development team based out of Verden, North Germany. The job holder is responsible to lead and deliver a project with relevance across the broader wet petfood portfolio in one of the following areas: product quality, product performance, efficiency, sustainability. The job holder is expected to be present on site at least 3 days per week and will be benefit from hands on experience in our pilot plant, innovation kitchen and laboratories.

What are we looking for?

• Advanced studies in a relevant field such as: food science, food technology, nutrition, biotechnology, chemical engineering
• Basic understanding of food manufacturing practices, raw material functionality and recipe formulation
• Scientific methods and mindset
• Must speak fluent English
• Minimum internship duration of 5 months

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Leading your own project or activity under the guidance of an experienced team
• Internal and external literature review and knowledge consolidation
• Designing experiments and bringing them to life through iterative prototyping in the innovation kitchen, pilot plant and/or laboratories.
• Data analysis and definition of recommendations / next steps
• Presentation of results to the PNE R&D Wet management team
• Active participation in team meeting, department meetings and project review meetings
