At the Freiburg site, the focus is on analytical solutions, especially for point-of-care diagnostics. But we also research, develop and manufacture electrochemical energy systems and autonomous fluidic robots and 3D printing of elecrronics. In liquid biopsy analysis, easy-accessible samples such as blood are used to diagnose cancer early and minimally invasive. The project spans from R&D to preparation of up-scaled production.
In our Liquid Biopsy Group at Freiburg im Breisgau we offer the following position (beginning from October 2023 or later)
- operating an automated purification system
- test different extraction chemistry formulations using Design-of-Experiments approaches
- functionalization and assembly of Lab-on-a-Chip cartridges
- Literature research about cell-free DNA extraction chemistry
- Thorough documentation and presentation in lab meetings
- You are currently visiting a Bachelor's or Master's degree programm related to biochemistry
- you are an independant thinker and describe yourself as curious and detail-oriented
- you have a team-oriented working-style
- experience with PCR and/or Design-of-experiments is a plus
- good communication skills in English and/or German
