Position Purpose:
The Digital Health Strategist (DHS) is a senior leader of the HIMSS Analytics delivery team, responsible for leading and advocating for the advancement of digital health transformation globally, acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to HIMSS partners, healthcare providers and market supplier clients in the adoption of HIMSS Analytics Digital Maturity Models and strategic advisory services.
The DHS is a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on digitally enabled healthcare delivery, the role of EMR/EHR and other information systems as interconnected components of the digital health ecosystem to achieve improved health outcomes enabled by person-centric, digitally connected care. The Strategist provides thought leadership and education internally to the HIMSS organization and externally to HIMSS clients and partners on digital health trends, priorities and market forces that impact digital healthcare adoption and investment. The role is responsible for leading and delivering digital maturity assessments and validation audits utilizing the HIMSS Analytics Digital Maturity Models, strategic advisory engagements at the health system enterprise level, and working with healthcare providers to develop their strategic roadmap to investment in and implementation of digital technology as the enabler of digital health transformation, and the achievement of measurable goals and outcomes with the Analytics Maturity Models as the core framework.
They will become subject matter experts (SME's) on the HIMSS Analytics product suite (as assigned) and actively lead the process of product content updates and prioritization of new content development as the Maturity Models continuously evolve over time with market needs. The Digital Health Strategist will regularly contribute to Analytics thought leadership and speaking engagements, development of new Analytics assets and knowledge resources, education, and training programs within their scope of expertise, and will actively participate in the HIMSS global Analytics practice.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Share a commitment to the HIMSS Vision, Mission and organizational values.
- Provide subject matter expertise as a trusted advisor and advocate for the HIMSS Analytics Digital Maturity Model(s) and Digital Health Indicator (DHI), and the role of these solutions in digitally enabled healthcare, advancement of digital transformation and the digital health ecosystem to improve health equity, quality, and delivery outcomes for all stakeholder groups.
- Assess, measure, report, and advise on the adoption and maturity level of digital healthcare delivery within provider systems utilizing the HIMSS Digital Maturity Model(s) and Digital Health Indicator (DHI).
- Develop advisory engagement process assets and methodology to support the continued evolution of the Analytics digital transformation strategic advisory practice.
- Lead healthcare facility, enterprise health system and government sponsored (regional or health service level, State and Federal Ministry of Health, etc.) digital maturity assessment and strategic advisory engagements.
- Collaborate with clients, market suppliers, HIMSS partners and internal HIMSS teams to develop evidence-based case studies, thought leadership, education, and product content that demonstrate and explain the benefits of digitally enabled healthcare delivery and digital transformation.
- Lead advisory (market intelligence and guidance, product, and service alignment to HIMSS maturity models, etc.) and custom education services for Platinum tier Certified Organizations in the HIMSS Digital Health Technology Partner (market supplier) program.
- Actively inform and facilitate the digital maturity model(s) product development plan through collaboration with Product Management, Office of Scientific Research (OSR) and other internal HIMSS teams such as Government Relations, Informatics, Sales, Marketing, and other SME’s (internal and external).
- Advise and prioritize new product requirements including enhancements to scoring methodologies, new measurement models, and collaboration with other product groups.
- Influence and advise on strategy to address internal and external business and regulatory issues, market forces, healthcare delivery trends, and population health improvement strategies as they pertain to the Analytics business and digital transformation of healthcare.
- Lead and/or participate in multi-disciplinary projects or initiatives as they pertain to the relevant product portfolio.
- Engagement level financial accountability, including schedule and revenue recognition responsibility working with the regional leader.
