Intern Petroleum Engineering within Products & Projects Department in Kassel bei Wintershall Dea

We are currently developing an AI-based (Artificial Intelligence) well integrity monitoring solution. As an intern (M/F/D) in our department Products and Projects, you will be assigned to support the development team and get the opportunity to gain deeper practical experiences and to work on various topics, such as:

• Provide domain expert knowledge (production engineering) to the data scientists related with data and problem understanding
• Label the training datasets according to the well parameter behavior
• Investigate the physics governing the well annulus leakage and derive the rule to identify the leakage
• Together with data scientists, investigate the false positive and guide the AI model refinement
• Support technical documentation in the product Wiki related with data, historical event, relevant sensors, etc from production engineering perspective

• You are final year MSc student in Petroleum Engineering (specialization in Production Engineering is a plus) and gained already practical experiences via internships or as a working student
• Strong understanding of physics related with the well behaviour, especially in naturally flowing well, gas lift well, and water injection well
• Basic understanding about well integrity
• Hands on experience with Python code is not required but is additional consideration
• Curiosity and ability to quickly learn and understand new stuffs
• Team player and collaborative in diverse team setup
• Fluent in English
