Exposure Assessment Expert (f/m/d)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position you will be accountable for the environmental exposure assessment of your assigned substances, and will take the lead on
exposure-related projects and topics:
- Identify critical environmental risks of our products and contribute to the development of innovative and flexible safe uses by developing technical and regulatory strategies for environmental exposure assessments to achieve defend or extend registrations, ensure consistency with the overall asset strategy, and ensure global consistency across regions
- Be accountable for the regulatory deliverables of the Environmental Exposure Team concerning registration applications, in particular the dossier parts related to environmental exposure
- Coordinate experimental and modeling activities for environmental exposure and risk assessment, manage the preparation of dossier parts and responses to authority requests related to environmental exposure; and defend our approaches and the results and conclusions in the registration process
- Be accountable for the workflow of electronic submissions (e.g., IUCLID) for the dossier parts related to environmental exposure
- Provide consultancy to Research, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing & Sales to ensure the development and resistibility of competitive and customer-oriented products
- Identify trends in regulatory science and agronomy and convert them into practical solutions to maintain and improve the efficiency and sustainability of product development
- Constructive support in the further development of regulatory requirements and guideline development, directly and via external scientific and regulatory networks, actively drives the development and implementation of new assessment approaches to improve the quality and efficiency of our work and to set up new options for product development
- Actively contribute to interdisciplinary internal and external projects and teams to develop innovative holistic solutions for technical or business issues by applying and fostering a mechanistically integrated risk assessment mindset
WHO YOU ARE
- PhD or university degree in the field of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, agricultural science, computational or data science, or related subjects, with a scientific track record and relevant professional experience
- A good understanding of the environmental behavior of chemicals, and in particular of plant protection products, as well as of the regulatory and testing requirements for plant protection products
- Experience in conducting environmental risk assessments for new compounds and marketed products
- Proficient with the preparation of electronic submissions (e.g., IUCLID), the ability to articulate ideas for the implementation and use of new digital tools, and open-minded to work in a modern e-data-based environment
- Ability to overcome complexity and to develop and implement efficient and innovative problem-solving strategies
- Process-oriented and mechanistic thinking, the ability and willingness to combine experimental and modeling approaches in interdisciplinary projects and teams, as well as highly developed teamwork skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, experience in interaction with internal and external clients, as well as project management skills to successfully deal with workload and study planning issues
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
