Volue Trading Advisory (VTA) provides customers who trade on energy markets with services that enable them to reap maximum market benefits. VTA researches, implements and operates automated strategies in these markets on behalf of customers. Work in VTA spans from ideation, research and development of automated strategies to implementing and operating them. Operations run 24/7 with high availability and reliability. Through solid understanding of energy market mechanics, quantitative analysis and modern systems, VTA achieves high success rates with customers and is a valued partner to work with.

The development team within VTA is responsible for the internal algorithmic trading platform. The platform consists of cloud microservices written in C# (.NET Core) responsible for ingesting & transforming data, running automated strategies as well as reporting and visualization. We’re looking for a Developer to further strengthen our team, enabling us to keep our platform cutting edge. The focus of this role is on software development, building scalable, well tested and resilient services. Nevertheless, to excel you’ll also need to develop an understanding of the data and processes, diving deep into the intricacies of energy trading.

What you will be doing to make a difference:

• Design, develop and test our trading platform for the short term energy markets
• Monitor and improve the performance of live trading operations in customer portfolios
• Further develop our research platform and trading strategies together with the VTA team

What you need to succeed:

• A passion for technology, software development and ideally energy markets
• Excellence in tight collaboration with Developers and Quants in fast iteration cycles
• Programming experience in C# (.NET Core) and SQL, Python is a plus.
• Appreciation of object-oriented programming principles, test driven development and software engineering best practices
• Eagerness to dive into the domain of energy market drivers and
  mechanics, understanding the details behind the data and processes
• Experience in DevOps and Cloud Computing (AWS) as well as version control with Git
• A Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in English, German is beneficial.
