Java Developer in Köln bei Arvato Systems Digital GmbH

As an internationally operating IT specialist, we are looking for you as Java Developer (m/f/d) for our office in Köln with the flexibility to work mobile, e.g. in a home office.

Your mission

• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend software applications using Java programming language for developing software of products in the media industry
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze user requirements and design scalable solutions that meet the business needs in the media field
• Implementing efficient and high-quality code, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Troubleshooting and debugging software defects, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
• Optimizing application performance and scalability through database tuning, efficient messaging techniques and efficient search index techniques, such as OpenSearch
• Integrating software components with third-party systems and APIs, ensuring seamless functionality for big international customers in the broadcast industry and participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality and maintainability

Your background

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Ten years of professional development experience with at least three years as a Java Developer, with a strong focus on backend development
• In-depth knowledge of Java programming language and related frameworks (such as Spring, Hibernate)
• Proficiency in working with SQL databases like Postgres and search index technologies like OpenSearch
• Experience with messaging systems like ActiveMQ, for asynchronous communication and familiarity with agile development methodologies and practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions
