OT Automation Engineer (m/w/d)
In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for all operational technology (OT) systems at our Dortmund Taste & Wellbeing production site, including both hardware and software components.
You will play a crucial role in project systems integration, facilitating the seamless coordination of various OT systems throughout the project lifecycle. This involves overseeing the integration of different hardware and software components, ensuring they work together harmoniously to achieve the desired project outcomes.
You will be located in Dortmund and you will report to the Head of Site Engineering T&W Germany.
You will:
- Ensure the proper implementation and management of the operational technology (OT) systems lifecycle
- Responsible for managing process control system & PLC modifications/projects in design, specification, execution and qualification in accordance with established change control procedure
- Act as the 1st level support for the OT applications or through service level agreement
- Lead/assist validation activities in equipment/systems qualifications, including protocol development, execution and reporting
- Coordinate Business application change request with vendor, IT and Operation
- Working with vendors and internal Subject Matter Experts to ensure the right automation solutions are deployed with the appropriate degree of integration and follow Givaudan standards
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of company, safety, environmental, governmental policies and regulations as they apply
- Assist CAPEX planning and budgeting
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in an Automation project environment
- Proven experience in programming Siemens PLCs and HMI systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Profinet)
- Solid MS Office skills (Excel, Access, PPT, Project)
- Proficiency in data analysis
- Fluent in German and English
- Broad automation project management knowledge in regards to user requirements specifications definition, vendor management project execution, commissioning and qualification
- You have an excellent sense of communication and listening, and you are naturally customer-oriented
- You demonstrate a proactive attitude towards changes and continuous improvement initiatives on the site
