We are looking for our next team member as we accelerate our growth journey. As an Applications Engineer at Brooks Automation, you will be the face of the company, working closely with our OEM and end-user customers to address their challenging and high-value problems through the application of our automation product lines in close cooperation with the Product team and Engineering.
What you will do:
- Lead pre-sales activities by actively participating in an interdisciplinary team that collaborates to define precise product specifications. This involves deeply understanding the customer’s high-value problems and translating them into actionable product requirements.
- Facilitate after-sales support by providing comprehensive integration support, ensuring that the customer’s experience with our products is seamless from installation to full operation.
- Demonstrate a self-starter attitude with excellent problem-solving skills, motivated by challenges.
- Exhibit a “can-do” mentality, ready to assist colleagues or customers.
- Become an expert in our products’ use-cases, such as vacuum robots & wafer handling systems, to provide pre-sales technical support.
- Guide product integrations at customer sites, including demonstrations, first article sign-offs, and complex issue resolution.
- Serve as a technical interface and trusted advisor to customers, understanding their applications and markets.
- Prepare detailed product specifications to define solutions for customers’ high-value applications.
- Work with sales and marketing to identify potential customers and applications for our products.
- Communicate customer needs to our marketing and product engineering teams, initiating projects that lead to new products or enhancements.
- Support customer visits, trade shows, and seminars, developing and delivering demonstrations to win
What you will bring:
- Technical ability to interpret drawings and understand their functionality.
- Customer-facing experience with a strong understanding of electronic components and system-level wiring diagrams.
- A helpful and patient demeanor, able to relate to various individuals.
- Systematic problem-solving skills with a strong commitment to goals and a team-first attitude.
- Experience with 2D CAD; 3D CAD and basic scripting or programming skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally, including to the USA, for up to 50% of the time.
