3 Advanced Clinician Scientists (ACS) positions for 3 Departments / Institutes within the Medical Center - University of Freiburg IMMediate: "Immune-Mediated Diseases"

The structured qualification program fosters long-term and reliable career paths to board certified physicians who, in addition to their clinical activities, engage in basic, translational or clinical research in the interdisciplinary field of immunology. The six-year program provides a tailored curriculum with focus on leadership skills as well as an individual coaching and a mentoring program. Flexible career measures and protected time for research (50%) support IMMediate Fellows to efficiently gain scientific independence and translate scientific knowledge into interdisciplinary and innovative patient care. The respective host department / institute commits to finance the fellow’s clinical work throughout the duration of the program and confirms the infrastructural commitment.

We offer:

an ACS position for six years with guaranteed protected time for research (50%) plus additional funds for personnel, consumables, travel and more
an individual qualification, coaching and mentoring program tailored to your needs
integration into the internationally visible research profile on immune-mediated diseases
access to cutting-edge technology platforms, core facilities, clinical study centre, data management facilities and biobanks

Your profile:

you are board-certified and preferably already have a clinical leadership position, e.g. (Functional) Senior Physician
you have a proven research profile in immunology that is consistent with the goals of the host department / institute
you are currently building up a scientific working group
you completed habilitation or habilitation is foreseeable
you successfully applied for own third-party-funds
you have a clear at least medium-term perspective at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg

The application is two-parted: the potential ACS candidate as well as the host department / institute are obliged to apply for an ACS position in parallel.

General information: Salary is assigned according to a pay scale. Unless prevented by operational or legal reasons, full-time positions are generally open to those wishing to job share. Where two candidates are equally suitable for a post, severely disabled candidates are given priority. Employment decisions are made by the Personnel Department.
