SUMMARY OF ROLE
Lead, Manage and Support all requirements of International Trade Compliance (ITC), Product Materials Compliance (PMC), and Checkpoint/anticorruption (CHK) to AUTOSOL platforms and BU’s for the DACH region (with a specific point of contact focus on the Emerson sites in the German Region). Ensure compliance with government regulations by developing strategies and implementation of consistent solutions by planning, organization review, training, implementation of policies/procedures, and reviews(audits). Provide leadership and support to management regarding the programs’ requirements, lifecycle support updates, staffing, and issue resolution. Leverage dedicated ITC, PMC and Checkpoint organizational structures supporting Emerson entities by coordinating, guiding and coaching functional resources (not direct reports) in their individual roles to achieve the performance and development goals.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the implementation of the Regulatory Compliance programs (ITC, PMC and CHK) with Emerson platforms, BU’s and sales offices to local Country legislative requirements and Emerson standards to enable standardization, optimization, and compliance for the South region.
- Proactively manage and advise/update the regions sales offices and plants on the regulations and practices affecting Regulatory Compliance, including applicable embargo and sanctioned country regulations/restrictions, boycotts, import/export controls and product compliance requirements (REACH, SCIP, RoHS, WEEE, Batteries, Packaging (+packaging taxes) and Eco-design.
- Actively participate in the Global/European Regulatory Compliance team initiatives to develop program improvements and standardization, manage special projects, attend meetings, trainings, workshops.
- Lead and participate in the Trade Compliance, Checkpoint, internal Anti-Corruption and PMC review(audit) programmes in the region including managing the progression of identified self-assessment improvement plans; establish/implement actions and provide support improvement plan support to Sales Offices and BU’s locations
- Manage/support investigation of potential suspected violations of ITC and PMC regulations, Ethics code of conduct or related company policies by collaboration with other functional areas (e.g. Legal, Finance, HR, Internal Audit, Sales, etc.) in the issue resolution
- Support and assist local Regulatory Compliance Managers/Gatekeepers and in all general compliance functions to maximize legally permissible business.
International Trade Compliance
- Lead and manage the Trade Compliance programme implementation and maintenance for existing and new acquisitions by working with the various regional locations and BU regional leads for Automation Solutions and Commercial Residential Solutions, to ensure implementation of self-assessment improvement plans and compliance requirements
- Understand and apply all applicable UN, USA, EU and local government Import/Export rules and regulations and ensure compliance, including Embargo and Sanctioned Country Regulations/Restrictions, Nuclear & Military sales, Strategic Goods and Licensing controls etc., for the South Europe region
- Identify and implement applicable Trade Compliance Procedures and Policies that enable standardisation and efficiency improvements at a country level and for the Southern Regio
- Plan, develop and conduct related training for all applicable personnel.
- Act as an escalation point of contact for Sales Offices and BU escalation issues including screening, holds releases, product issues, country of origin, self-assessment, general escalations,
- AEO responsible and point of contact for customs inquiries
- Provide oversight support and direction to assist local ITC Managers/Gatekeepers.
Checkpoint/Anticorruption
- Lead the implementation and maintenance for the DACH Checkpoint programme and actively support programme pilot activities.
- As a member of the Checkpoint leadership group, develop and conduct related training for all applicable personnel
- Identify and implement applicable Checkpoint programme improvements that enable standardisation and efficiency improvements for the region.
- Act as the point of escalation for Checkpoint escalation issues for the region.
Product Material Compliance
- Provide support in the discovery and implementation of the related regulations and processes for the PMC programmes (REACH, RoHs, WEEE, Eco-Design, Batteries and Packaging).
- Manage the Product Material Compliance programme implementation and maintenance by working with the various regional locations (including specifically Germany) and BU PMC SPOC leads for Automation Solutions and Commercial Resident
