VALEO is the world market leader for sensor technology in the field of driver assistance and the market leader for parking systems. The research and development site in Kronach-Neuses has developed into a centre for autonomous driving. Around 100 developers are working there on the development of recognition functions for series products such as front cameras as well as research into algorithms for the latest sensor generations of cameras, ultrasound, LiDAR and RADAR and their use in autonomous driving and parking in urban and motorway environments.

development of algorithms for state estimation and SLAM methods of autonomous systems
optimization of algorithms to improve efficiency and accuracy
design, implementation and test of reusable components by means of rapid prototyping (Python) as well as software development (C++)
collaborate in a research-based environment in a group of innovative engineers and scientists at one of the largest automotive suppliers worldwide
collaboration with colleagues at other VALEO locations and with customers at vehicle manufacturers
contributions of publications and patents
You inspire us with that:
completed studies or doctorate (Master/Diploma) in the field of computer science, physics, mathematics, robotics or comparable
in-depth knowledge of state estimation (Kalman, particle filter, …) and in particular SLAM algorithms
experience in algorithm development and software implementation
experience with common programming languages (Python, C++)
good understanding of mathematics, statistics and physics
software architecture and design patterns (preferably)
knowledge of computer vision and point cloud processing (preferably)
strong knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
