YOUR TEAM

We, the Portfolio Management team, define and actively manage the functional portfolio of the E³ 1.2 systems architecture that powers high-class Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Scout vehicles end-to-end – from early strategic outline over requirements definition and committee approval until implementation and launch. With a laser-sharp focus on time, cost, and quality, we deliver state of the art customer experience, secure process-compliant functions development and thereby secure long-term competitiveness and profitability for CARIAD, Volkswagen Group brands, and partners.

As the key interface between CARIAD’s overarching technology and portfolio strategy department, the tech centers and central enablers and especially the delivery unit’s architecture, delivery, integration management and system leads, we drive the evaluation and prepare the approval of new hard- and software modules in relevant tech and product committees with our brand counterparts. In our role as internal entrepreneurs and business owners, we advise the board of management in strategic decisions, monitor the implementation progress and control necessary changes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build and lead functionally & disciplinary a team of highly capable (Lead/Senior) Portfolio Managers
• Drive the organizational setup and collaboration/steering model within/beyond the DU
• Devise portfolio/project and change/complexity management processes within/beyond the DU
• Advise and consult senior/top management on strategic decisions and prepare decision papers
• Steer and align the DU’s product portfolio across lifecycle with CARIAD and brand stakeholders
• Prepare and execute CR / new product approval in CARIAD and Volkswagen Group committees
• Ensure collaboration among CARIAD and brand stakeholders across project phases and regions
• Devise, implement, and foster a high-performance work environment

WHO YOU ARE

• Successfully completed studies in the field of business, engineering or comparable studies
• Ten or more years of experience in an automotive, IT or large scale, multi-national company in strategy, product management or technology area
• Deep understanding for current and emerging automotive technologies and processes and how competitors and other enterprises are employing them to drive business
• Highly experienced in board level activities, stakeholder experience, design and implementation of new organizational practices and strategic initiatives
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills to lead problem assessments and workout solutions combined with proven ability to structure and explain complex matters on board level
• Prior experience in leading multiple, complex projects accounting for priorities, interdependencies, risks, and backup plans in interdisciplinary and/or multicultural team setup
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German and English), including the ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders and v.v.
• Understanding and anticipating the political environment and the cross-brand collaboration with multiple stakeholders
• Be an exceptional communicator and experienced project and team leader who can write, present and effectively adjust messages to meet individuals, audiences and organizations
• Exemplify a proven and enthusiastic, high-energy, motivating modern leader who is visibly passionate and is capable of inspiring and galvanizing an organization
