Together, we are creating a great place to be cared for and a great place to work. We are looking for a People and Organisational Development (OD) Assistant to help us achieve this through the operation of our people-centric HR queries service.
‘People-centric’ means a customer focused, responsive and quality service which proves appropriate, timely answers and advice to employee and management queries, providing the best possible customer service experience.
The post holder will be the first point of contact as part of our HR queries service, ensuring that all first-line advice queries are responded to or escalated to a member of the wider People & OD team. The role will include preparation of HR data and information.
Main duties of the job
The HR Queries service provides a responsive service to the organisation on HR queries raised by all employees, including managers. Answers and advice can be on a range of HR topics, including Trust policies, procedures, and national terms & conditions of employment. As part of the HR Queries service, you will be responsible for escalating more complex matters to People & OD Advisors for appropriate resolution and support.
Our HR Queries service is predominantly delivered over the telephone and via email. The post holder should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing advice in virtual and face-to-face meetings where required.
Appropriate training will be provided to the successful candidate upon commencing the role with a comprehensive induction plan in place.
Working for our organisation
We have People & OD offices at Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Moor Lane Mills in Lancaster town centre and at Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal. We support agile working options, currently operating a blended approach with People & OD colleagues working from home as well as in the office.
Our Trust operates from three main hospitals; Furness General Hospital (FGH), the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
