Junior QA Automation Engineer in Homeoffice bei Trusted Shops AG

As a Junior QA Automation Engineer you will be responsible for automating our tests and the further development of a reliable quality assurance concept. You will work closely with up to two cross-functional product development teams. You will develop and implement automated tests from concept to deployment and be an integral part of the product teams and their development processes.

What your day as a Junior QA Automation Engineer might look like

• Starting your day with setting up your mobile working environment – or adjusting your table at the office.
• Opening your individual task manager and getting your mind into the processes you are supporting at the moment – from short-term operative to long-term visionary perspectives.
• Meeting your team in the daily standup and setting the stage for the collaborative work of the day. You’ll probably have a look at your backlog together – or your Kanban board or whatever style of agile collaboration your team favours. Most likely you will have some tickets in the "Ready for Testing" column - this might be your main task for the nearest time.
• Continuing with meetings or work sessions that help you UNDERSTAND your business, BUILD your software or LEARN from data, customers, and colleagues.
• Lunch break! Grabbing a bite at home or maybe gathering a few team members and colleagues and explore the restaurants around the office?
• More meetings or work sessions in the afternoon. It is completely up to you how long and in which constellations and formats you work, but you can expect that a lot of people will want a piece of you! So, communication and (self-)organisation should be your strong suits!
• Luckily, there will be regular meeting series with your QA Team colleagues where the QA Strategy, new testing approaches and tools, or the current challenges are discussed. Feel free to bring in your expertise!
• Still in the office? Get a free drink on the rooftop terrace before going home, maybe? And remember: We don’t believe into working till the middle of the night here.
• Or was this your monthly self-education day? In which case, no meetings for you today, but a self-chosen agenda of learning and self-improvement.

You will be responsible for:

• Manual testing of the new and existing functionalities
• Creation, execution, evaluation and maintenance of manual and automated test cases (Jira, Xray, Python, Robot Framework)
• Expanding the automated E2E test suite
• Setting up, adapting and using test tools
• Supporting tests integration into a CI environment (CircleCI)
• Analysis of existing test cases and achieved results, as well as monitoring the test progress

• Degree in computer science or a comparable training is an advantage
• You have experience in manual testing of web applications
• You have experience in automated testing and (preferably) software development, so you can read and understand source code (Python experience is a plus)
• You are familiar with different test frameworks, testing pyramid and test-driven development (TDD)
• You are familiar with REST APIs
• You have experience working in an agile environment
• You are proactive and curious, you try new approaches and share the knowledge with others
• You are a good team player and able to work independently
• You have business fluent English (C1) and ideally good German (B1) skills
