What You’ll Get to Do:
As a CACI-Special Operations and Asymmetric Solutions (SOAS) Women, Peace, and Security Program Analyst, you will assist the Gender Advisor in the incorporation of Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) guidance and mandates into AFRICOM’s plans, operations, actions, and milestones. You will provide subject matter advice on UNSCR 1325 and related resolutions as well as US WPS Strategy and Legislation. Include gender perspectives into steady state and contingency military planning and operations. Support, inform, and provide timely advice to the AFRICOM Command Group and Staff. Coordinate and collaborate with the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), US Africa Command, other Service Components, and the USG interagency on WPS / Gender Advising guidance, policy, and activities. Participate in DOD and AFRICOM WPS Working Groups. Engage with African Partners on gender issues in line with AFRICOM and component objectives.
More About this Role:
- Manage WPS program financial management for WPS program execution.
- Manage updates to WPS command instructions and doctrine.
- Track and input WPS activities in C2IE for common operating picture and tracking of command engagements.
- Manage and update the WPS activities tracker spreadsheet.
- Provide updates to the AFRICOM WPS SharePoint webpage.
- Manage the WPS100 training battle rhythm for AFRICOM, its components, and potentially AFRICOM State Partnership Programs.
- This position is unaccompanied.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Education: BA or BS in behavioral science, cultural studies, sociology, or related discipline
- Experience with the US military or DoD
- Experience with implementing the WPS mandate.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information security clearance
- Must have a valid U.S Passport with at least 9 months before expiring.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Postgraduate degree and advanced vocational training in behavioral science, cultural studies, sociology, or related topics
- Direct experience working in the AFRICOM AOR
- Experience at a combatant command and/or service component headquarters
- Experience with joint doctrine, joint strategic planning, and the joint operational planning process
- Experience with DoD security assistance, cooperation, planning and programming.
- Experience conducting gender analysis and assessments.
- Experience working with USG interagency departments and agencies.
