Tasks & responsibilities - In your new role, you will analyze biological samples from non-clinical studies using high resolution mass spectrometry and statistical data evaluation with primary focus on drug safety assessment.
- You will develop LC-MS-based approaches for the analysis of endogenous biomolecules and will implement new methods for metabolomics data analysis and interpretation.
- The mechanistic interpretation of the results and the identification of new safety-related biomarkers is also part of your responsibilities.
- You will manage and drive complex projects with a high degree of personal responsibility and represent the team in cross-functional project committees.
- You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to generate new hypothesis and translate your insights into novel approaches for drug safety testing.
Requirements - PhD in biology, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields with several years of professional experience
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and hands-on experience in untargeted metabolomics using high resolution mass spectrometry coupled to liquid chromatography
- Experience with statistical analysis of complex metabolomics datasets; programming skills in R and / or Python are beneficial
- Analytical and innovative mindset with profound problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated creativity and initiative in driving research projects, as well as a cooperative and independent work style, paired with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge in toxicology or cell biology is advantageous
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; willingness to acquire basic knowledge in German
