The Institute for Computational Genomics is seeking a

Student Assistant (f/m/d)

with a limited term until 30.04.2024 (extensions are possible). The regular weekly working time is 12-18 hours.

The Institute for Computational Genomics performs research on computational methods for the analysis of epigenetic and regulatory mechanisms of dynamical processes such as cell differentiation, aging, and the onset of diseases. We are looking for a motivated student assistant to support the implementation of a research project. This involves the use of graphs algorithms to analyze cell-cell communication networks. Subsequent employment in the working group, e.g., in the context of a master dissertation, is possible.

Tasks

• Translate our cell-cell communication tool, CrossTalkeR, from R to Python
• Make the Python implementation compatible with the Scverse guidelines

Profile

• Best practices in software development
• Python and some acquaintance with R

Condition

• A valid certificate of study in Computer Science/Informatics or related degrees.
• For foreign students: valid residence certificate, work permit, registration certificate

The salary based on the guidelines for student and research assistants.
