You are an experienced PHP developer with a passion for RESTful backends and Databases? You are looking for a challenge to bring in your project experience to the games world?

To expand our teams in Cologne (Germany) and in Spain, we are looking for a PHP - Backend Developer (f/m/d) .

Please note: Work permit for Germany/EU is required!

We have been doing games since 2006. Nurogames is an independent game development and software engineering company. We realize games and gamification solutions for consumers, the industry and innovation projects. Nurogames covers the entire value chain of game development - from the initial idea to the final product - for all major mobile, web, PC, console, VR, AR and XR platforms.

Our special focuses are Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), in combination with casual, social, eLearning, eHealth, and serious games.

Your tasks

As part of our young and international backend team you will develop server applications in close coordination with the design, HTML and Unity teams based on PHP and databases.

• Design and implementation of new logic and systems.
• Optimization and maintenance of existing systems.
• Advising project managers on technical issues.
• Delivering well tested and maintainable code.

Your profile

• Work permit for Germany/EU.
• Excellent skills in object-oriented PHP programming.
• Good knowledge of databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience in test-driven development (phpUnit) is a plus.
• Enjoy working in a team and with version management (Git, SVN).
• Good understanding of software architectures, game mechanics and REST API’s.
• Aspiration to constantly enhance and learn about new technologies and concepts.
• Good English skills.
