The transformation of industrial production processes through the use of renewable raw materials also affects the treatment of the resulting waste water and residues. In a European research network, the transition to more sustainable production processes and circularity is to be shaped. To this end, technologies for recovering energy and nutrients from wastewater from the chemical industry are being developed and tested. Anaerobic and membrane processes are the focus of development efforts. If this challenge appeals to you and working in research and teaching in a university environment excites you, then we look forward to receiving your application.
Your tasks:
- You will participate in a European research project to improve sustainability in industrial wastewater treatment and carry out experiments and contract work together with partners from universities and industry in this field.
- You will cooperate with research partners throughout Europe and take on coordination tasks in the research network.
- You assist in the preparation of research proposals and publish your results internationally.
- You will supervise student theses and take on teaching tasks at the institute in the field of recycling management and industrial wastewater treatment.
Requirements for employment:
- Completed scientific studies (diploma, master's degree) in the field of environmental or chemical engineering or environmental process engineering / urban water management.
- Desire for research on the optimisation of biological degradation processes (especially anaerobic processes) in experimental reactors in the laboratory and in semi-technical facilities and for accompanying analytics (e.g. fluorescence microscopy, gas chromatography)
- Practical skills in handling experimental technology on a laboratory and pilot scale
- Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary team with other research partners and to familiarise yourself with new fields of work
- Confident handling of relevant software tools (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Organisational talent and ability to work independently
- Very good English skills and good written and spoken German skills
- Driving licence class B
Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications applicants with a degree of disability of at least 50 or equal will be given preference. Wages and salaries are according to the collective agreements on salary scales, which apply to the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt). Part-time employment is generally possible.
Applications with the usual documents (at least a letter of motivation, CV and references) should be sent by email in a single pdf file to Vera.Soedradjat@tu-darmstadt.de, quoting the reference number.
