The Faculty of Chemistry at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen welcomes applications for
one Ph.D. position (f/m/d) at the Computational Chemistry and Biochemistry group. The application window will be open up to
December 3, 2023 . The position is remunerated with 50 %
E 13 TV-L (corresponding to 19.9 hours per week) with a limited contract of 3 year. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
Your profile - you hold a Master degree (M.Sc.) in chemistry (or equivalent),
- you are proficient in Theoretical Chemistry (or a closely related field of research),
- are proficient in English and/or in German,
- are interested in or have experience with international exchanges and project collaborations.
The advertised position is intended to for a position in one of the collaboration networks at the Faculty of Göttingen, including but not limited to RTG2455 “BENCh”. The successful candidate will be involved in joint research projects focusing on the theoretical treatment and analysis of reaction pathways. The aim is to develop on previous work by the group in the description of chemical reactivity in gas and condensed phases. Previous experience with programming for chemical applications (particularly with the Python programming language) and/or data analysis techniques is not mandatory, but will be considered.
