D&E Department
The Development & Engineering (D&E) team drives the technology, innovation, and new development of data center infrastructure across Vantage’s companywide portfolio. D&E evaluates new sites, drives cost and schedule in line with corporate goals, and serves as subject matter experts across the entire project lifecycle from concept through operations. The team collaborates with Sales, Operations, and management along the way. D&E also works hand in hand with the Construction team to come up with a vertically integrated design and ensures new and existing standards and designs are executed effectively. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our technical staff are given the responsibility and authority to directly drive tangible results. Our team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high-impact decisions and results.
Position Description
Vantage is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to be part of the design delivery team that is responsible to produce and manage the production of design packages within the construction process and become engaged in all technical aspects. In this role, you will be responsible for the whole design cycle of assigned existing and new developments in the region and the role will require extensive travel to the region you are allocated to. You will be ultimately responsible for the design documentation production, review & approval, coordination with the design-build contractor design teams, and technical approval of all OFCI and GC proposals and submittals as part of the procurement process. You will be the point of contact for the rest of the departments' leaders involved in the project cycle (Solutions Engineering, New Site Development, Design & Engineering, Construction, Automation & Controls, Security, IT, and Operations) to support with required design packages respective to each team. Regular collaboration and coordination are required with the other Vantage development regions. You and the team will ensure existing standards are executed and enhanced for each project. You and the team will evaluate designs and provide engineering analysis to balance CAPEX and OPEX costs. You will take part in interfacing with end users throughout the development cycle.
You will provide technical engineering information and assistance to ensure that new data center spaces comply with the project requirements, all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. Knowledge of all engineering aspects related to designing state-of-the-art data centers is required.
Vantage has a very collaborative work environment and you will need to assume responsibility to interface and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, customers and contractors. Vantage’s D&E team is engaged in the company’s sales process and we leverage our internal engineers to cater our product offerings to meet the ever-evolving needs of our customer base. This means you will work with the subject matter experts of our customers to translate requirements into tangible solutions. Your role will have a meaningful impact on the bottom-line profitability and success of the company.
Essential Job Functions & Duties

Lead all aspects of Electrical design and engineering including conceptual design, basis of design, scope of work, development of construction documents, equipment procurement strategy and innovation for projects assigned to the design delivery team

Lead engagement with the local authorities and local consultants to ensure compliance with all local code requirements
