JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Flight Control System Engineer to join our growing team. As a Flight Control System Engineer you own the requirements, architecture, interfaces and integration of our Flight Control System components such as Flight Control Computers, Navigation Systems, Pilot Inceptors, and others. The general work is ranging from requirements management, development, implementation for our vehicles to testing. The final goal of all your activities is creating airworthiness of our product. Shape the future of aerial mobility with us by developing our Flight Control Systems in coordination with regulatory partners and suppliers.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specify requirements and design airworthy architectures for fly-by-wire flight control systems, subsystems, and components
- Define interfaces and communication protocols, analyze data-bus systems and derive Interface Control Documents
- Validate requirements and architectures by e.g., applying modeling and simulation
- Define the strategy for validation and verification of the flight control system and create, conduct, and evaluate system and component tests
- Manage flight control system suppliers
- Be part of our flight-testing campaigns and see your developments fly
- Coordinate with other departments and external suppliers
- Continuously challenge and improve the technical concepts, tools, and methods
YOUR PROFILE
you should …
- Hold an academic degree in Systems/Electronic/Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Have at least 5 years of experience in fly-by-wire fight control system development including requirements engineering and requirements driven developments
- Have a clear understanding of safety-critical development processes based on DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A
- Have strong motivation to establish processes and organizational structures
- Have a high level of target-oriented self-management with the ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- Have excellent problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills
- Have fluent English language skills
Moreover, we appreciate if you …
- Have knowledge in control theory and flight control laws of fixed-wing aircraft or rotorcraft
- Have experience in aerospace testing and test automation
- Have experience with DO-160 requirements specification
- Have experience in DO-331
