Your responsibilities
- Perform mid- and long-term forecasting and fundamental analysis in the Nordic power market.
- Support the initiation of new trading strategies and enable value creation; challenge and optimize existing processes & interfaces.
- Be opinionated, create new business ideas to drive change and commercial success.
- Ensure effective relationships with peer analysts and stakeholders across multiple teams and locations by connecting them with research, materials, and people to guarantee optimal cooperation, information flow, and to support decision making.
- Research and monitor relevant sources to keep your stakeholders ahead of the market.
- Identify, evaluate, and challenge input assumptions for tools / market models.
- Be responsible for the balance between administration, operation, and new development of analytical tools / market models as well as data feeds within your area.
- Prepare for and help mastering an ever-more data-driven market analysis environment and closely align Market Analytics’ future aspirations with our internal stakeholders and peer analysts.
- Further driving forward the degree of automation of reports, tools, and models and the related improvement of processes and related interfaces to other departments and stakeholders.
Your profile
- Excellent education in engineering, economics, business administration, mathematics, or similar.
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in the field of energy markets and within the trading environment required.
- In-depth understanding of European and particularly Nordic power market fundamentals, drivers, relationships and their related fundamental modelling.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills as well as relevant experience in modelling power markets - particularly hydro dominated power markets - with proven track record.
- High level of MS Office capabilities especially Excel, a programming language like Python/Matlab/R/VBA required; understanding of database structures and experience in handling of large amounts of data desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; in particular ability to integrate different views and to mediate/interact between trading/optimization teams and market analytics in a transparent way.
- Work closely and develop effective working relationships with peer analysts, traders and optimizers across multiple teams and locations to ensure optimal cooperation, information flow and decision making.
- Fluent in written and spoken English required. Knowledge of Swedish/Norwegian/Danish a plus.
