The Company

mk2 Biotechnologies is a start-up with a disruptive platform technology for the synthesis of high-purity peptides and proteins for mass applications. For this purpose, we combine recombinant protein expression with an innovative downstream process in order to develop novel highly effective peptides and to produce them on a large scale.

Your Role

We are looking for a person with deep knowledge in the field of biotechnological synthesis and purification of proteins at least on a pilot scale, who others refer to as a rock star in the field of bioprocess technology. If you feel addressed by this and like to actively work on the further technological and procedural development towards the next scale together with the founders and production partners, you should keep reading.

Your Profile

Hard facts:

• Completed studies, ideally with a PhD, in bioprocess engineering, molecular biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, or similar
• Profound practical and theoretical knowledge in the following areas is mandatory:
  • Recombinant synthesis of proteins in glass & steel fermenters (batch & fed-batch)
  • Protein isolation & purification via industrially established methods
  • Operation, operating modes, maintenance & quality assurance of corresponding production equipment
  • Standard molecular biotechnological methods (SDS-Page, WB, MS etc.)
• Fluency in English is a must, German is beneficial
