Job Description:
Work closely with Microchip teams such as Engineering Services, BU Design teams, and Operations, to ensure Microchip’s analog and mixed signal design flows and tools are robust and reliable.
Provide front line support for Microchip staff in the use of these tools and flows
Develop, test, and release scripts and tools as specified to aid in analog or mixed signal design and layout
Provide training to MCHP staff on the proper use of the tools and flows
Document or otherwise archive developed material for future use or re-use
Such other comparable duties as may be required by Microchip management
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum 8.5+ years experience in an analog/MS design or CAD engineering role
Experience with EDA tools for analog IC design and simulation is required
- Cadence virtuoso ADE, spectre, eldo or hspice tools for analog IC simulation, fast-spice simulators
- Virtuoso layout and post layout extraction simulation flows
Knowledge of digital and mixed signal simulation and verification techniques is required
- questaADMS, AMS Designer, or equivalent
- debug tools such as verdi, simVision, or vizualizer
Experience with distributed and remote computing environments and their maintenance would be an asset (LSF, RTDA. Sungrid)
Knowledge of PDK’s and their interaction with the simulation environment.
Knowledge of programming in a scripting language (e.g. Cadence Skill, shell, Tcl, Perl, python)
C, C+ or other high level programming language would be an asset
Must be familiar with linux OS
Prior use of revision control tools would be an asset (Design Sync, IC Manage, SOS, GIT, or SVN)
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills are required
Ability and willingness to learn new skills and self-starter who can produce in a remote managed setting
