What part will you play?

As our Global Commodity Manager, you develop and implement material strategies in alignment with the business and according to the location´s needs. You ensure early involvement in all key projects and drive and implement sourcing decisions, always considering the total costs.
In your additional assignment as Strategic Buyer for two locations, you also ensure early involvement in all key projects and are available on-site to co-operate closely with stakeholders.
You drive productivity through effective utilization of procurement levers (i.e. negotiation, cost transparency, e-sourcing, cost value engineering…) across DI MC and within Siemens.
You implement and use best-in-class Supply Chain Management processes to secure productivity, optimize assets, ensure quality, as well as delivery reliability and innovation, including escalation- and claim management.
You manage and drive global networks through location procurement and cross-functions to exchange information as well as best practices within your area of expertise.
Additionally, you lead, manage, and develop our supplier network for commercial topics, supplier qualification, development, and overall relationship management.
Furthermore, you apply supply market intelligence, commercial and technical trends to drive value for the business and share this information transparently with stakeholders and cross-functions.

What you need to make real what matters.

The basis of your success is a completed degree in a technical or commercial field (e.g. industrial engineering, business administration).
In addition, you have already gained many years of professional experience in procurement and cross-functional experience in a related functional area including a solid understanding of related reporting and controlling requirements.
Experience in Production Equipment is a clear advantage.
You have a clear understanding of international competition, ideally acquired through long-term stays abroad or co-operation within an international environment.
You can work in and maintain multidisciplinary and multinational networks.
You are fluent in written and spoken English to ensure global communication and negotiation. Good knowledge of German is also required. Your language skills support communication on executive level - including extensive expertise in presentation development. You have proven ability to align with business partners and objectives as well as to collaborate cross-functionally across international teams.
You are a team player and proactive and assertive to achieve the business goals and are willing to find solutions with modern and digital approaches where you demonstrate ownership culture by initiative in developing plans, execution of those plans, focusing on business results, full transparency, open & honest communication and taking bold decisions.
You are available for intercontinental business trips.
