BluCon Biotech GmbH is a rapidly growing company developing a unique process to produce L-lactic acid at the lowest possible cost, making the bioplastic polylactic acid (PLA) commercially competitive with fossil fuel-based plastics.

We are currently looking for a Bioprocess Engineer (m/f/d) to expand our team and accelerate the achievement of our ambitious goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to our Project Leader, you will:

• Coordinate upstream and downstream process development activities
• Manage internal projects, optimize development timelines, and allocation of resources
• Plan and organize R&D programs at laboratory and pilot scales
• Document and present results internally and to stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in Biotechnology, Chemical or Bioprocess engineering, or related disciplines. Ph.D. is advantageous
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the biotechnology field
• Fermentation experience in laboratory, pilot OR production scale is mandatory. Lactic acid production know-how is a plus
• Knowledge of relevant software tools, especially in the field of data analysis
• Good skills in presentation and technical writing
• Proactive, self-organized, hands-on mentality and team player
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
