The Position
In Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to takle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. The position is located in the Lead Identification Department, within the Discovery unit of the pRED’s Large Molecules Research, where the discovery of next generation biotherapeutics is the primary focus. We closely collaborate with therapeutic areas and other functions to convert therapeutic hypotheses into innovative therapeutics.
Job mission
We are offering an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist (m/f/d) to work with a highly engaged team of molecular biology, display technologies, and automation specialists. In collaboration with experts in protein engineering, you will be responsible for analysis of -omics datasets to enable discovery and optimization of next generation antibody-based therapeutic molecules . In close collaboration with our internal and external partners, you will also develop methods and strategies to handle data generated on our platforms and support system integration and automated workflow management.

Shaping and evolving pRED’s portfolio projects by applying in silico methods to the discovery and characterization of next generation protein therapeutics
Guiding the department strategy and supporting the evolution and integration of state of the art data analysis platforms for both in vitro and in vivo antibody discovery workflows
Nurturing trustful relationships and effective collaboration with internal and external partners
Your profile
You thrive in and are dedicated to establishing a culture of mutual support, cross-training, continuous learning and self-organization to meet project and functional goals. You have a PhD in Molecular Biology, bioinformatics or a related field and at least 5 years of professional experience in the biotech or pharma industry. Your extensive professional experience in large molecule drug discovery, in vitro display methods as well as -omics datasets analysis enables you to expertly lead cross functional teams and support portfolio projects. You have a keen interest in developing IT systems and scientific programing (Python, etc.) . You are resourceful and flexible in problem solving and in working in a collaborative and inclusive manner with strong oral and written communication skills.
