We are seeking a Manager of Wholesales Model Validation to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently validating the Wholesales IRB and IFRS9 models, identifying shortcomings, performing validation tests, writing validation reports, and managing model risk on an ongoing basis. The candidate must have experience in quantitative model validation and development, as well as a degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, physics, econometrics, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently validate new and existing credit risk models used in risk management, capital calculation, stress testing, etc.
- Qualitatively review the model development process and assess model components against regulatory requirements.
- Quantitatively assess model performance through data evaluation and statistical testing.
- Document validation findings and communicate results to senior management and relevant committees.
- Manage and complete model validation from end-to-end while meeting planned timelines and required standards.
- Recommend statistical improvements to the models.
- Review models according to local regulatory requirements and industry practice.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in validating or developing quantitative wholesale models (PD, LGD, EAD) or credit risk models.
- Sound comprehension of the Capital Requirements Regulations, related RTS’s and EBA Guidelines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems independently.
- Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts and results in a comprehensible manner to key stakeholders.
- Knowledge in compliance with EU Regulations, EBA and ECB Guidelines, MaRisk, KWG, and SolvV.
- Knowledge in other model types is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, physics, econometrics, or related field.
- English business proficient. German is a plus.
- Databases and programming languages: SAS, R, SQL, and/or Python.
