Internship & Master Thesis - Mathematical Modelling of Cell Culture Processes in Biberach an der Riß bei BI Pharma GmbH&Co KG
Would you like to join a pharmaceutical company, where your skills, competencies and creativity can open doors for your development and professional growth? During your internship you will have the opportunity to get to know a lot about working with process data in our department Bioprocess & Analytical Development, using relevant and innovative analytical methods. If this sparks your interest, we can offer you a unique experience to do your internship in Biberach, in one of the pharmaceutical industry's top 20 companies.
As a student intern, you can expect a fair expense allowance (payment of the currently valid minimum wage) as well as 2.5 paid days off per full month of the internship. A full-time internship is 37.5 hours a week.
During your thesis you will receive an expense allowance of €900 per month.
Start date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months for the internship followed by 6 months for the master thesis
- During your internship / Master thesis you will receive comprehensive insight into different areas of pharmaceutical bioprocess development.
- Moreover, you are able to proactively engage in applied and interdisciplinary development topics which are of practical relevance.
- You will build on the modelling skills you have acquired during your university studies, in order to develop innovative models that mimic different aspects of a mammalian cell culture process mathematically.
- You will subsequently apply these computational models in simulation studies with the aim to diagnose problems, provide in depth process understanding, and to improve overall process operation.
- Student in biochemical engineering, biotechnology, bioinformatics, (bio-)statistics, mathematics or related academic field with basic knowledge in fundamentals of biopharmaceutical industry
- Hands-on experience in modelling and simulation of bioprocesses (e. g. mechanistic models, biochemical network models, metabolic flux analysis, machine learning and statistical methods)
- Profound programming skills, e. g. in Matlab or Python
- Dedicated, creative and team-oriented working manner, as well as a high willingness to learn
- Fluency in spoken and written English, German is a plus
