Your role at Baxter
As the Associate Director, EMEA Communications for Kidney Care you will be responsible for overseeing all internal and/or external communications relevant topics in the business segment in EMEA, and supporting local initiatives across the clusters.
As a member of the EMEA SLT, you will act as a strategic advisor to the President, Kidney Care EMEA and to the SLT. You will be in charge of driving the support of the marketing teams in the development of creative communication and influencing strategies, key messages and tactical plans to promote current and future business plans in EMEA.
You will be implementing PR and marketing communication programs and campaigns in close collaboration with the regional Kidney Care marketing and medical teams, coordinating and leveraging services from external agencies. You will exert strong influence through strategic and executional communication advice to leadership, regional marketing and medical teams to achieve short- and longer-term business goals.
Critical to the role is the ability to articulate solid communications strategies, to turn complex scientific and technical information into clear messages in collaboration with the regional teams, and to drive effective implementation of strategically relevant communication activities across social and traditional media. Acting as a core member of issues & crisis management teams is key in protecting and maintaining Baxter’s reputation. You will play a critical role with HR in articulating employee engagement plans and activities.
Other essential tasks include coordinating CSR activities including charitable donations and supporting the reinforcement of a culture of Ethics & Compliance.

What you'll bring
Ability to efficiently and proactively support the President of Kidney Care EMEA and to represent Communications and contribute to the SLT.
Strong critical and strategic thinking applied in a clear communication strategy, key messages and tactical plans in close collaboration with marketing and medical teams. Proven ability to align strategically relevant messaging across many therapy areas within a business unit and to implement them consistently.
Ability to quickly catch opportunities and change course if needed, a curious and active partner in our diverse teams, who has the maturity to constructively challenge colleagues and management.
Ability to identify and analyse business and audience needs to deliver messages via the most appropriate mix of media and channels. Ability to leverage external relationships with KOLs and patient advocacy groups to reinforce messages and promote long term relationships with key external stakeholders.
Excellent writing skills with proven experience to turn complex information into clear, concise and compelling materials under time pressure. English and relevant country and cluster languages.
Excellent social media skills to build equity.
Highly developed project management and prioritization skills.
Strong capability to envision and implement change and an eye for the big picture. An ability to lead other people (who are not direct reports), to coach, develop and guide others in communications, including senior management.
Articulate spokesperson with demonstrated ability to manage media relationships.
