As part of the ‘Natural Water to Hydrogen’ profile development, UDE focal areas of water research and nano-sciences (catalysis) will be synergistically bundled in order to achieve an increase in the sustainability of hydrogen production. The interdisciplinary research will systematically investigate the water qualities required for anion exchange membrane (AEM) water electrolysis. Fourteen research groups from the Faculties of Chemistry, Engineering and Physics are involved. Other international research groups, academic institutions, networks and companies are also involved. We are looking for an independent personality with a high degree of initiative and experience in science management to coordinate the development of the profile.

- Scientific coordination of the ‘Natural Water to Hydrogen’ project in collaboration with the spokespersons and the Executive Board
- Conception, planning and organisation of the project´s events, including workshops, an international summer school, an international symposium and public events
- Conception, planning and organisation of the cooperation programme and management of contacts with industry, academic partners, associations and networks
- Organisation of the guest program and supervision of international guest researchers
- Conception, planning and organisation of the mentoring programme
- Responsibility for the creation and implementation of a data management plan for the project in cooperation with the Research Data Service of the UDE
- Responsibility for the central budgets of the project and the corresponding proof of use vis-à-vis the project management organisation
- Responsibility for the project's public relations work, including setting up and maintaining the website and preparing press releases
- Central interface communication between the participating scientists, the administration and the project management organisation
- Support in the preparation of scientific reports and funding applications, organisation and preparation of the application for a Collaborative Research Centre
- Successfully completed university degree of at least 8 semesters standard period of study (Master's degree or equivalent) in a chemical, physical or engineering field
- Experience in project management of research projects, acquisition of third-party funding and international scientific cooperation or experience in science management
- Affinity to the topics of water research and/or nano-sciences
- Experience in the organisation of scientific events is desirable
- Very good English language skills are required. Knowledge of German language is providing an advantage.
- Confident handling of the MS Office package, affinity for online media, experience with InDesign, Photoshop and Imperia of advantage
- Assertiveness, independent and structured way of working, flexibility, high motivation and enthusiasm, commitment and reliability, ability to work under pressure
- Outgoing personality with organisational skills and good cooperation and communication skills, strong team player
