Your Role
Identifying New Opportunities and Technologies in Manufacturing Applications As ZEISS Corporate Research & Technology, our job is to look for new applications, markets and technologies beyond the horizon of our business units. As our new Innovation Scout for Manufacturing, you are responsible for identifying and assessing new opportunities, monitoring technological progress in your area as well as building a close relationship with internal stakeholders and the academic community. Based on your deep understanding of applications and markets, you will then assess which opportunities and technologies are attractive opportunities for our core markets, propose activities to pursue those opportunities. In your role, you will be a crucial part in identifying innovation potentials for areas such as industrial quality, semiconductor manufacturing and production automation. Your role:

Drive innovation in the fields of manufacturing by identifying and evaluating opportunities in the innovation sweet spot of desirability, feasibility, and viability

Contribute to developing the strategy and roadmap for manufacturing technologies and applications

Extend and maintain a partner network in the field of manufacturing

Conduct innovation and market studies, identify customer needs, and develop solution concepts as part of an inter-disciplinary team

Propose projects to implement solution concepts in proof-of-concept demonstrators

Develop new business and venturing proposals and support the successful transfer of concepts, technologies, and solutions to ZEISS business units

Support Senior Innovation Managers in their work with ZEISS Strategic Business Units
Your Profile

A degree in natural sciences, engineering, data science or economics, a PhD is beneficial
-
Curiosity and passion to explore new topics

First experience in the field of manufacturing in academia or industry and a great interest for related technologies

Experience in conducting research projects

General understanding of corporate innovation management

A distinct ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, and a very good command of English
